Most popular

Donate online — one-time or monthly

The fastest way to give. Set up a recurring monthly gift in seconds, or make a one-time donation. The form is hosted by Blackbaud — secure, encrypted, and trusted by thousands of nonprofits.

Why monthly?
Recurring gifts give PEF predictable funding throughout the year and let your impact grow over time. Most monthly donors end up giving more annually than they originally planned to — without feeling it.

Tax-smart

Appreciated stock or securities

Donate stock you've held for over a year and avoid capital-gains tax — while deducting the full market value. PEF accepts direct broker-to-broker transfers.

Why it's tax-smart
You avoid the capital-gains tax you'd pay if you sold the stock yourself, AND you get a charitable deduction for the full market value. Two tax benefits in one gift.
To get started
Email help@pvpef.org or call 310-378-2278 for our broker information and transfer instructions.
Donor-Advised Fund

Recommend a grant from your DAF

If you have a donor-advised fund at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or another sponsor, you can recommend a grant directly to PEF. Use the information below.

Legal name
Peninsula Education Foundation
EIN / Tax ID
95-3498211
Address
PO Box 2632
Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA 90274
Tip
Most DAF sponsors have a "Find a Charity" search — look up Peninsula Education Foundation or our EIN.
For donors 70½ and older

Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA

If you're 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to PEF. QCDs count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) — and they're excluded from your taxable income.

Annual limit
Up to $108,000 per individual per year (per IRS — adjusted annually for inflation, confirm the current year's limit with your tax advisor).
How to do it
Contact your IRA custodian and request a QCD payable to Peninsula Education Foundation, EIN 95-3498211, mailed to our PO Box. The check must come directly from the custodian to PEF — not through your hands.
Let us know
QCDs often arrive without donor names attached. Email help@pvpef.org when you initiate one so we can thank you and provide proper acknowledgment.
Double — or triple — your impact

Employer matching gifts

Many Peninsula-area employers match employee donations 1:1 — and some go 2:1 or 3:1. Boeing, Chevron, Northrop Grumman, Apple, Microsoft, Disney, and many others have matching programs. Check yours.

Employer-match search widget goes here.
Drop in PEF's existing Double the Donation embed code to let donors search their employer right on this page.
How matching usually works
1) Donate to PEF first. 2) Submit your employer's matching-gift form (often through your HR portal). 3) Your employer sends a matching check to PEF.
Send forms to
help@pvpef.org or PO Box 2632, Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA 90274.
Annual commitment

Multi-year pledge program

Make a multi-year pledge to PEF — typically $750 per student per year. Pledges give PEF the confidence to commit to teachers and programs in advance, and reduce repeat-ask friction for your family.

How it works
Choose your annual amount and length (typically 1, 2, or 3 years). PEF will follow up each year for renewal — no repeat asks during the year.
Why pledge
Predictable funding lets PEF commit to staff, materials, and programs months in advance — when our schools actually need to plan.
Lasting legacy

Include PEF in your estate plan

Leave a legacy of investment in Peninsula students. A bequest of any size in your will or living trust can fund Palos Verdes Peninsula classrooms for generations.

Sample bequest language
"I give to the Peninsula Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (EIN 95-3498211), located at PO Box 2632, Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA 90274, [the sum of $___] / [___% of my residuary estate] for its general charitable purposes."
Other planned-giving options
Beneficiary designations on retirement accounts, life-insurance policies, and donor-advised funds are simple, tax-efficient ways to include PEF.
Please notify us
Letting PEF know about a planned gift is voluntary, but it lets us thank you and make sure your wishes are honored. Email help@pvpef.org.
